Don’t consider roles that incompatible with your goals and values! -Jay
Last week I was looking at some career paths and became interested in a particular ATS and HRIS system based on the West Coast. Reading through the job description of the Customer Success representative who assisted subscribe to utilize and optimize features for the greatest impact on their business! Wow…helping others learn and optimize a software solution - perfect for me!
The snag…I would need to be available until 5:30 Pacific Time. No-go! My preference is to work in Eastern Time and this position would push too far into the evening and would compromise one of my goals…spending the evenings with my family at the gym! After a few minutes of fairly serious contemplation, I decided to not even apply.
Two marvelous things happened from this decision:
I didn’t compromise my values and goals
I didn’t clog up the recruiter pipeline for this position.
Win, win!
