Boy am I tired!
After a week of very boring but much needed rest as my family is recovering from an awful fatigue illness; I wasn’t planning on writing a blog today! No one wants to hear about that…and then it happened, Nutsy the Squirrel entered into our lives from the chimney and excitement gripped our little household!
We started the timer and began a submission-only bout with our furry guest, hoping we could get to him before our killer-cat did. The boys quickly worked to create barriers and route his movements. We had him confined to a couple rooms on the lower-lever and so the fun began!
If this were a match based on points, Nutsy would have dominated! He passed our guards and kept maneuvering from one control position to another with quickness and skill. He had clearly been studying BJJ for a while and wasn’t easily taken. I’m not saying I’m a good (or even kinda-decent) practitioner, but I know calm-patience pays off. During a rash movement our guest challenger turned into his own Gi and settled into a wonderful baseball choke I had setup. That was it - the match was over! 🥳 💪🏻
Nutsy was quickly relocated outdoors with little to no damage - he ran away really fast! Although we would never invite Nutsy back for a rematch we do appreciate his sportsmanship and the deep-cleaning service he conducted behind our laundry appliances. That was enough excitement for me today and I’m ready to settle in with tea and a blanket. Thank you for reading, apologies for all the BJJ jargon, and have a great Sunday!
