Updated: Jun 30

About 5 years ago I was working late at the office and a colleague who was also working late walked by and said “go home, be dad!” …so I did.

Not that we need permission to be dad but we often feel our loyalties split between work and family. This is probably why Father’s Day is on a Sunday… When we are able to be with our kids it is not important that we are doing anything big and grand but THAT we are with them.

It doesn’t matter when preparing lunch everyone is still in jammies, but THAT you went all out out and lightly toasted the bread before you made the PB&J sandwiches. (Messy but worth it!)

It’s not needing to tap out because your fourteen year old son got you in a really good triangle choke during Jiu-Jitsu, but THAT you were at the gym with him.

There are many more THAT moments than we realize when with our families, so find them, enjoy them and don’t forget to smile!

…now I’m off, go be dad!
